The Amgen Foundation strives for one mission – to make science education accessible to all.
As part of this mission, The Amgen Foundation launched a campaign called ‘I Am a Scientist,’ with the aim of debunking sterotypes, teaching aspiring scientists, that not all scientists wear a lab coat and that anything is possible.
The brief? To create animated social content, showcasing a series of profiles from the I Am a Scientist website, in a Spotify Wrapped style format.
After exploring the I Am a Scientist website, I created a moodboard inspired by each scientist’s personality and career path—drawing initial inspiration from Spotify Wrapped.
This led to sketches and a storyboard that used colour and illustration to bring each profile to life.

A series of animated posts, using bold colours as a secondary colour palette to represent each scientist’s personality and career path. These formed part of a collective, branded social campaign, which also uses the Amgen blue as the background colour.
As a result of this campaign, the average amount of likes achieved on Linkedin was 128, helping to reach young scientists, teachers and healthcare professionals across the globe.
